Who we are...

While we have already achieved a lot in Germany, there are still too many other countries where the situation for LGBTIQs is bad to catastrophic. Unfortunately, it also looks as if it is getting worse rather than better.

Russia is currently planning to ban same-sex marriage, America is increasingly opening the door to discrimination against LGBTIQs, Poland is introducing “LGBT-free zones”, etc.

There are LGBTIQs in every country in the world, but it is not easy to live with them everywhere. Acceptance, tolerance, ignorance, criminal liability, danger to life ... the range is enormous and frightening.

The recently published “Spartacus Gay Travel Index 2020” shows that LGBTIQs face the death penalty in 15 of the 202 countries compared. In at least 45 states, people were murdered for being gay or transsexual in the past year.

The Spartacus "Gay Travel Index" has been published since 2012 and evaluates 202 countries based on around 20 criteria.

Canada is currently in 1st place, Germany in 10th place and the bottom of the list is Chechnya in 202nd place.

The ILGA (International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association) also prepares an annual “homophobia report”. ILGA is the global umbrella organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex organizations. The current report (December 2020) can be read at https://ilga.org/.

There is also a clear map of the world that shows the entire situation.
